Passing Your Driving Test in Merton, Sutton and South West London 

Before taking your test there are a number of things you must do first. Good luck driving school can help you book, prepare for and pass your test.

Passing your theory test

Your theory test is broken down into two parts: hazard perception and multiple choice. 

If you are struggling to understand any aspects covered in your theory test, our instructors can offer to help you. This can take place during driving lessons, or before or after a lesson if you prefer. 

We can also help you book your theory test if you are struggling to do it yourself.

To book your theory test, you must have: 

  • provisional driving license 
  • email address
  • credit or debit card

Preparing for your practical driving test

On the day of your driving test, you will have to answer some show me-tell me questions before your test starts. 

These include questions such as 'Tell Me how you would check the tyres to ensure that they have sufficient tread depth and that their general condition is safe to use on the road?' 

Our instructors can help by going through all the possible questions you could be asked before the test and making sure your answers are correct. 

You will also have to undertake an eye-sight test. Therefore, its important that you remember to wear your glasses or contact lenses to your test if you need them. 

The eye-sight test will require you to correctly read a car number plate  from 20 metres away.


To book your practical driving test, you must have: 

  • provisional driving license 
  • credit or debit card
  • driving instructor's personal reference number

Passing your practical driving test 

We offer to accompany all pupils on the day of their driving test. We understand that many pupils will be nervous on the day of the test and therefore we try to help reduce this as much as possible. 

All cars used in lessons can also be used on the day of the test. This means you are really familiar with the car you drive on the day, and gives you the best chance to pass.
